TOPIC: what happened?

what happened? 1 Year, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
I was out on saturday night with some friends. One minute I remember dancing and the next I woke up in my bed the next morning and I can't remember a thing. My mate was making fun of me saying that I was in some state - I blacked out in the middle of the street, couldn't talk properly or keep my eyes open.
I couldn't have possibly drank that much because I remember feeling fine before I blacked out.
Nothing happened to me, I was lucky my friend was there to take me home, otherwise I think something awful would have happened.
The past 2 days I've been really emotional because I just don't feel right, I feel angry that someone has done this to me and I'm starting to think it may be someone I know. I have never felt this vulnerable before and I feel like it is my fault - that I should have been more careful.
I feel exhausted, ill, I've just stopped vomiting - the only conclusion I can come to that I was spiked.
Does it sound like I have?

Hi lolatron,

I just read your post and felt I should reply to you. From what you've described happening it sounds as if your drink may have been spiked. After all you know your limits on how much you can drink and the affects it has on you.

You were very lucky to have your friend there. They did a good job in getting you home safely. I would strongly recommend you check all your personal belongings, credit/debit cards and banking as some (sick) people do this to steal from people.

If you feel brave enough I would suggest that you go back to the bar/club you were in where this happened, if you can't be sure then visit the ones you went to that night, and tell them you suspect your drink was spiked and that they should put up some information in the toilets about spiking, or even better run a spiking awareness night! After all the people who do this are opportunists, and it is not always about sexual assualt sometimes it's for robbery. Direct them all to this site. Keep safe, and for warn as many people as you can, once word gets out then you all have safety in numbers.

Now more importantly you need to keep talking about what happened to someone, don't bottle it up, and make sure you write things down. Whilst you can't remember details now, its not to say that more details will start coming back later on, months sometimes even years later.

Feel free to post here, we have all been where you are now. Someone here will always understand and listen.

Hope this helps. Hugs
