I found out yesterday that the CPS have decided not to take my case to court because my evidence is too vague!! I was bloody drug raped so what do they expect!! Now they have released another rapist onto the streets. What message is this giving people besides there is NO justice in this world!! They might as well give a green light to any man who fancies a woman to drug rape her because she will be a poor witness and they will get away with it. Thereby, breeding a society of rapists!!! I hate our justice system it is crap... it dopes not only leave drug rape victims competely powerless in terms of evidence but what about those who are profoundly disabled, the deaf, blind, or those with alzehimers for example... are they all free pickings for the sexual perverts and deviants of society because I thought the law was there to protect victims from crime, not to roll over and say oh well!!!! I am disgusted and devistated!!

And I wish people would actually respond to these listings and not just read them as I need HELP, support and someone to talk too. I thought this site could offer this but people just seem to read listings and move on???

So sorry to hear of your pain and situation. I am no counsellor so I wont pretend I can help specifically and I know this sounds like a stupid question but have you called the Roofie Foundation helpline yet?

There is friendly independent support there and they maybe able to direct you to further local support in your area. It sounds like you need to speak face to face with someone who understands and is 'on-call' to provide you with what you need.

Other than that I can only suggest appealing to the CPS, your local Police Commissioner and don't stop contacting them until you get a meeting and they agree to pick up the case.

If they fob you off, and only if you feel confident and comfortable to speak publicly, as a last resort your local newspaper maybe able to help raise awareness and of your situation and you can get a news story in the paper lobbying the Police and CPS to do something.

Again - I am sorry to hear about your situation, please do call the Roofie Foundation in the first instance, that is what they are here for, then take things from there.

Thank you for your message.. I haven't called the roofie helpline recently. I spoke to them in April when I was raped and they were very helpful. I am currently in touch with RASAC (Rape and sexual abuse centre).

I will look at appealing the CPS decision but I have been told that my chances are next to zero. I have heard of a Judicial Review but even that decision rests with the CPS unless I take out a private prosecution which could be very costly with no guarantee of getting a conviction. I was told that the CPS will write to me with their reasons and then offer me a meeting. My advocate told me this. The police have not even bothered to call me with the outcome!

I have thought about the papers but RASAC told me that I can put myself at risk of being done for harrassment or defamation of character because there is not enough evidence against him and he was not prosecuted.. its a no win situation!!

I am so sorry to hear about your case not gettinf passed the CPS, unfortunately 95% of cases never make it into the courtroom. I have had quite an bad experience re court cases and spent a lot of time on this site getting help from other victims. I am sorry I have not replied to you sooner but i have only just been able to re- aquaint myself with the board but I am here now and hopefully can be of some help to you. You are not alone so please don't feel like you are. A lot of people watch from afar and dont feel strong enough to give advice so please don't take it personally that people don't respond.

Its just soooooooooooooooooo hard knowing that he has got away with it!! He has no idea of how this has affected me and the constant rewind & play of the events leading up to and after; and trying to work out all that is missing inbetween - it wont stop!!

It makes me sick to my stomach to think he is free to target someone else!!

I couldn't bear to hear that he had hurt another woman, when he could have been stopped now!!

I just feel so powerless, betrayed, let down....

Trust me hunny I know how hard it is and how the feelings just don't seem to go away but what you need to remember is how strong you have been to get this far. It is not easy to take it to the -police and go through the whole process of even getting them arrested. There isn't a day goes by that I dont think "i wish i never went to the police" but then I know deep down that I did my best to get them Bas**rds caught for what they are. I found out after the trial that one of them had done it before but got off with that one too. It destroyed me because if the police had followed that case up more then maybe they would have been caught then, they didnt. They are still walking the streets free, free to do what they want but at the end of the day I fought with ever ounce of energy I had left but it just wasnt enough.
